Mountain Man) Not often that you see hot shit new elextro bands teaming up with sweet-voiced folksters to craft collaborative material, but you should. Here, a marriage made in heaven, or somewhere from the depths of 1982’s lost tapes when, in my fantasy, New Order was hanging out making demos with Eurythmics. I expect to be seeing a lot more radness from these rising Philadelphians, and maybe they’ll even bless us with more collabs with those angel-voiced Brooklynites. Stay close.

This is where Mr. Lennox takes the original with Dent May and Woods’ Jarvis Taveniere on harmonies and then adds his magic touch of goodness. Sun Airway - “Oh, Naoko” It is definitely an upgrade from The A-Sides. tuneage: Sun Airway - “Oh, Naoko” A friend of mine just introduced me to Sun Airway and it took about two days for me to become hooked. For me, I know a song is great when I casually listen to an album once or twice, walk away from it, and hours later have some ‘random’ song stuck in my head. Then the fun begins when I backtrack and try to remember what exactly it was that I was listening to. That’s what happened with this song in particular. Sun Airway is based out of Philadelphia and reminds me of Animal Collective + Coldplay. Strange combination perhaps, but the atmospheric “bliss pop” background mixed with Coldplay-esque vocals are what brought me to this comparison. This track is off the band’s debut album, Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier, which came out in October on Dead Oceans and will be released in January in the UK. Another favorite track of mine is “American West” which I posted on my blog yesterday out of sheer excitement. Enjoy!
